Cyber Security Workshop - 1 October

After several years of running successful legal workshops for Bristol Media Members, we're pleased to announce that Rebecca Steer of Steer & Co will be returning on Tuesday 1st October for a workshop on Cyber Security.

Published on Tuesday, 17th September 2019

Cyber security is increasingly a concern for board directors and senior management teams. The UK government has found that only 16% of boards at UK FTSE 350 companies have a comprehensive understanding of the impact of cyber security for their business, despite 96% of such businesses having a security strategy in place.

About the Workshop

Specifically for Creative Digital and Tech businesses, the 2-hr session will cover identifying risk within your business, implementing appropriate policies and practices to protect your business, and considerations for incident recover procedures.

Rebecca will specifically look at personal liability for directors arising from cyber security breaches and why senior management teams are a target. We will also look at post GDPR fines for data breaches and areas where businesses are taking risks such as contractual liability and poor due diligence of sub-contractors and sub-processors.

This workshop will address how you can protect, mitigate and avoid these issues and is brought to you by award-winning lawyer, Rebecca Steer, who specialises in IP, IT and media law.

Who should attend?
