Bristol to Paris Cycle Challenge 2016

Another chance for a Bristol Media team to help Bristol’s Hospitals

Last year Bristol Media came together to form a team of cyclists to take on this brilliant challenge and it’s happening all over again in 2016.

Jonnie Galvin-Wright (Stuff’s Managing Director and a Director of Bristol Media) will once again be taking on this fabulous four days of cycling and he is looking for other Bristol Media members to join him and beat the £10,000 the Bristol Media team raised in 2015.

The Bristol to Paris Cycle Challenge was created to raise money for Above and Beyond; the charity for Bristol’s City Centre hospitals. It takes place over four action packed days during the May bank holiday weekend with teams cycling 430km before arriving triumphant at the Eiffel Tower.  All of this in the knowledge people can make a difference to hundreds of local children who require life-saving heart surgery at Bristol’s children’s hospital every year.

We want a Bristol Media team to come together again to take on this challenge to help raise the £150,000 in total needed to buy the latest 3D ultrasound scanner that will make all the difference to children like Joe. Joe was diagnosed with congenital heart disease at birth and had his first shunt put into his heart when he was just 72 hours old.

Yes, you will need to be reasonably fit but the range of abilities is wide - as is the bikes you could do it on - so no need to feel this is for elite riders only (just look at Jonnie and some other Bristol Media guys who did it last year!).

In the lead up to the Bristol to Paris Cycle Challenge there will be social events to meet other participants and hear from motivational speakers, Meet & Greet cycle rides and of course lots of fundraising support – ensuring we all successfully cross the finishing line!

Places are limited and registration closes on 18th September To find out more please contact jonnie@stuffadvertising.com  in the first instance or register directly at http://www.everydayhero.co.uk/event/bristoltoparis2016 as soon as possible to avoid missing out. Registration costs just £99 and the charity is looking for a minimum sponsorship commitment of £1,442.

Once you have registered you will be invited to a launch event on the evening of Thursday 3rd September to hear more about the event and our programme of social events and training cycles as well as meet your fellow cyclists.

The Bristol Media team raised over £10,000 in total in 2015, more than any of the other teams.  Let's do it again!
