Our next Members only Business Breakfast will take place at Bordeaux Quay from 0730-0945 on Thursday 27th April.
One of the things that sets Bristol Media apart from other industry organisations is that our membership comprises all the varied sectors of the creative industries. As we don’t operate in a sector silo, our members benefit from the creativity and innovation that comes from meeting and exchanging ideas with organisations outside of your own zone of familiarity.

Each small table of Managing Directors/Partners from different sectors will be hosted by a Bristol Media board director. By moving tables, attendees will get the chance to discuss with peers all three elements.
This session is all about clients - how to keep them happy and coming back for more. We’ll all be sharing our experience, what we’ve tried, what’s worked and what doesn’t work.
There will be a short introduction by Professor Tim Hughes and Dr Mario Vafeas who have been carrying out further research into the relationship between agencies and clients, this time focusing on what clients want and what agencies can provide. For those who don’t know Tim and Mario have been exploring the current state of the typical client-agency relationship for the last four years
1. Managing clients – facilitated by Jonnie Galvin Wright, MD of Stuff
Who should be client facing? Should you have project managers or account managers? What makes a great client? How do you handle difficult clients? What happens when a project goes wrong, how do you get it back on track?
2. The admin side – facilitated by Chris Thurling, Digital Strategist, Coach and Mentor and Chair of Bristol Media
Not the boring stuff! How do you judge if a client is profitable? How do you charge - time based or value based? How useful are time sheets? How do you manage workflow?
3. Growing clients – facilitated by Caroline Hagen, MD Reach Design
How can you be pro-active in growing your business with your client? What’s the difference between added value and over-servicing? How do you get referrals?
